William (7) and Matthew (8) on set at BBC One Drama The Village
TWO brothers tasted stardom filming scenes for a new series of the hit BBC drama “The Village”.
Matthew (8) and William Lowe (7), from Watersheddings, are playing the Rundle brothers in the second series of the drama, starring alongside John Simm and Maxine Peake.
The drama, set in 1923, focuses on life in a Derbyshire village and is told through the eyes of central character Bert Middleton, played by Tom Varey.
The brothers, who are pupils at St Theresa’s Primary School, will appearing on the show, due to be aired later this year, as the brothers of former “Waterloo Road” actress Phoebe Dynevor, who plays the station master’s daughter.
While Matthew is no stranger to acting with big names — he recently appeared in BBC1 drama “From There to Here” alongside Philip Glenister — for William it was a new experience and his first role.
The pair come from a family which shares their love of acting with brothers Mark (15) and Samuel (12) also appearing in BBC show “Jamaica Inn” among others.
