Twins dance off with world title
Date published: 01 August 2014
TWIN sisters who learnt their trade at an Oldham dance school have claimed victory in the Youth All Girls World Pairs Championship in Blackpool.
Bethany and Katie Wright (17), of High Crompton, honed their skills at Jason Steele School of Dance, Shaw Road, and underwent six months of intense qualifying just to make it to the final.
Jason Steele, who has run the dance school for four-and-a-half-years, said: “I was over the moon.
“It’s one of my biggest achievements since I’ve been here.
“They’ve both worked really hard and they’ve been so determined. They deserve the success and they have got what they wanted.”
The girls, who specialise in freestyle street dance, had to compete in local heats between January and June to gain entry to the finals where they competed against 50 couples.
Mum Sally-Ann said: “It was out of this world.”
