Foster agency is outstanding
Date published: 01 August 2014
AN independent fostering agency has been classed as outstanding by inspectors.
Ofsted said that Alpha Plus Fostering Services at Hollinwood Business Centre was very well managed by Christi Marie Clynch.
It receives referrals from local authorities and the inspectors found that young people and carers were matched very well.
“Professionals report that this is a real strength of the service. As a result, placement stability is very good and there is a low number of placement breakdowns,” said Ofsted
“Consequently, young people enjoy settled placements which helps them to make excellent progress.
“The manager knows the children and carers very well. She leads by example and works hard to ensure that children, young people and carers have the highest quality service possible.”
Ofsted also praised the comprehensive training for carers, the support they receive, the robust arrangements for keeping children safe, the rigorous assessment of carers and strong links with other organisations such as the police.
