OLDHAM sports personalities lent a helping hand for a charity fundraiser this week.
Former Manchester United and England star footballer Paul Scholes, St Helens RL star Mark Flanagan, and RL legend Kevin Sinfield had a haircut at Steven Caine Hairdressing on Huddersfield Road to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.
Salon business partners Steven Palmer and Jason Smith donated a day’s takings on Wednesday — £300 — to the charity.
The sporty trio regularly get their locks trimmed at the salon and Kevin is now an ambassador for Men United v Prostate Cancer.
Steven said: “It was smashing — the place was packed out. We’ve been selling badges and pins for a few months.
“There is a lot of interest as we get lot of men here who may be affected.”
