Dorothy Pearson (front centre) retires from North Ainley Solicitors.
DOROTHY Pearson is retiring after dedicating over 50 years’ service to the legal profession in Oldham.
Having started out as an office junior at local solicitors Rowntree & Ritson, in Church Terrace, she soon progressed to become the receptionist and then book-keeper.
“I was a little apprehensive at first as I had never worked with figures but I soon picked it up,” Dorothy said.
When John Ritson retired and North Ainley Halliwell took over his practice in 1985, she moved to the Clegg Street offices initially, where she worked in accounts before being promoted to head receptionist — the position she has held for almost 30 years.
Dorothy added: “I have really enjoyed working at North Ainley Halliwell and will miss the many friendly clients and staff who I have come to know well over the years.
“It will, however, be nice to spend more time with family and friends.”
