Chloe follows her business dream

YOUNG entrepreneur Chloe Booth already has a successful business under her belt.

And the 18-year-old will now study business management at Manchester Metropolitan University after getting two Bs and a C in English literature, media studies and business.

Chloe was the managing director of North Chadderton’s award-winning Young Enterprise company Sweet Course Candles.

Nominated

The team’s range of dessert-scented candles saw it win the company of the year award at the area finals of the Young Enterprise competition, the initiative where pupils set up and run their own businesses.

The school was also second at the Greater Manchester final while Chloe was crowned student of the year at both events.

She was also nominated for the Young Enterprise Journey Award — a national award which recognises individual progress in the competition.

As well as her business and study commitments, Chloe was last year’s head girl at North Chadderton and a member of the senior student team which helps to run school events.

“I have always wanted to go into business, it is in my family. My dad has a garden centre and my step-dad has a property company,” she explained.

“I loved Young Enterprise. It was a great opportunity — speaking to the top people in companies, addressing big audiences, negotiating and meeting deadlines — and it will really benefit me.”
