Girl, 16, loses baby after park attack

A teenager was due in court today after allegedly punching his heavily pregnant 16-year-old girlfriend in the stomach - an act that caused her to lose the child.
Dusan Bako, (18) of Copster Hill Road, Oldham, has been charged with child destruction.
Police were called to Copster Hill Park at 3.15pm on Thursday. The seven-month-pregnant girl was taken to hospital.
Det Chief Insp Jamie Daniels, said: “The circumstances surrounding this are exceptionally tragic.
“We have specially-trained officers supporting the girl, who is distraught in a way I can’t begin to imagine.
“To punch a heavily pregnant woman in the stomach is an unthinkable act and I can only reassure people that we are doing everything we can to fully and thoroughly investigate the full circumstances.
“We know that others may have seen this take place or have information that can help us with this investigation. We need to speak to these people urgently.”
