Warrant for man who left dog to starve
Date published: 22 August 2014
A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of an Oldham man who failed to attend court to answer dog cruelty charges
Mohammed Gul (21), of Manchester Road, Oldham, faced court after his pet dog was left locked in a garden with no food or water for three days last winter.
The german shepherd dog, Jake, had no shelter, bedding or water and was underweight when found by the RSPCA February 7.
Gul said the dog was under the supervision of another man while he was holiday, but the RSPCA had been unable to contact the man.
Gul was found guilty in his absence of not looking after his dog or making suitable arrangements while he was away. He will be sentence at a later date when he appears in court.
Jake is now at an RSPCA kennel and waiting to be rehomed.
