POLICE and council officials acted quickly to move travellers off the Broadway site
POLICE and Oldham Council acted swiftly when travellers arrived at a Royton park yesterday.
Officers and officials reached the field within an hour of three caravans arriving on the site on Broadway, close to the former Our Lady’s school.
Other caravans were prevented from entering the field — home to a childrens’ play area and mini goalposts for football matches — and a 24-hour eviction notice was served.
Travellers who managed to get on the field left within hours.
