Comic Mick’s Fringe prize
Date published: 29 August 2014
DERKER comic Mick Ferry has bagged one of comedy’s top prizes.
Mick was part of the team that won the 2014 Foster’s Comedy Awards Panel Prize at the Edinburgh Fringe. The Fosters awards were previously the Perrier awards.
The team, which also featured Phil Ellis, Jim Meehan, Will Duggan and Tom Short, performed “Funz and Gamez”, an anarchic and irreverent show satirising children’s entertainers.
The show was popular with both children and fellow comedians at the festival, some of whom returned to watch several performances.
Funz and Gamez was originally classed as a children’s show and the judging panel refused to review it - but an outcry led to the judges allowing the entry.
