Former golf captain on child-sex charges
Date published: 29 August 2014
A FORMER captain of Saddleworth Golf Club is to face trial following allegations involving sexual activity with a child.
Timothy Edwards (58), from Dobcross, had already pleaded not guilty to five counts and now faces three more charges.
At Manchester Crown Court yesterday, prosecutor Barrie Darby said the additional charges were similar to those already denied.
A provisional trial date has been set for December. Father-of-two Edwards will next appear on October 28 when the new charges will be put to him.
Edwards, who appeared at this week’s court hearing by video-link, was told he would continue to be remanded in custody.
