TYING the knot . . . Phil O’Connor and Jacinta Guerin receive their prize from Maureen Goodwin
A couple are celebrating after winning a complete wedding day package in a raffle for the Jamie’s Something Special fund.
Phil O’Connor (38) and Jacinta Guerin (40), of Blackley, who have been together for eight years, won a prize that includes the venue, a photographer, a cake and a registrar to perform the service.
Phil has two daughters from a previous relationship, Emily (18) and Imogen (15), while Jacinta also has a daughter, Erin (10) from a previous relationship. The couple’s daughter, Freya, is two.
The Jamie’s Something Special Fund was set up by the parents of two-year-old Jamie Heaton, who died in the Shaw gas blast, and has so far raised over £30,000 to improve Bullcote Park, Heyside, where Jamie took his first steps.
Phil said: “We’re over the moon with winning. I proposed about 18 months ago but this has given us the help we need to get married. We’re hoping to have the ceremony next summer and we’re really looking forward to it.”
