Drunk man in anti-gay pub threat

A 37-YEAR-OLD man was given a six-month community order by Oldham magistrates for using homophobic language at a well-known gay-friendly bar.
Mark O’Keefe (37) was already drunk when he went into the George Tavern in George Street, Oldham and started using offensive language to customers. when asked to leave he became aggressive. Police were called and found cannabis on him.
O’Keefe, of Manchester Street, Oldham, was then arrested.
In a statement O’Keefe told police he was embarrassed by his comments, and sorry.
Magistrates also gave O’Keefe a three-month curfew, a requirement of which is attendance at an alcohol-treatment session.
