Discover the retail side of crime
Date published: 16 September 2014
A STORY of crime, capers and budgies is the order of the day for Hard Graft Theatre’s new comedy.
And like their comedy “I Love Oldham” last year, this year’s show “Thick as Thieves” will be performed in a Yorkshire Street shop - ReTale at Mumps
The show, from September 23- October 11 is about two bungling career criminals and their life on the wrong side of the law.
The comedy has been written by company founder Mark Whiteley and stars TV favourite Steven Arnold — better known to fans as Corrie’s Ashley Peacock. He plays determined burglar Steph “the Earl” Ashton
Steph teams up with nice but dim Barry - played by Corrie actor Jonny Dixon - and the pair turn their hand to housebreaking — with hilarious consequences.
The hopeless duo set out on a night of crime that becomes ever-more frantic and furious by the hour.
ReTale is a former pram shop renamed for the occasion, and audiences are limited to only 45 people at each performance.
