Fly-tipper arrested at airport
Date published: 19 September 2014
A FLY-tipper’s holiday ended on a sour note when he was arrested at Manchester Airport after landing.
A warrant for the arrest of Roy Lynch, of Laburnum Avenue, Chadderton was issued when he failed to appear before Oldham magistrates.
Neighbourhood enforcement officers had examined rubbish dumped in Westhulme Avenue in March and found his address.
An investigation led to Lynch (39) who said he had helped a friend remove a washing machine and other items and that they had take up an offer of having the items removed by a man passing by for £20. They hadn’t asked for a receipt.
When he failed to appear at court in August the warrant led officers to arrest him after his plane touched down in Manchester. He was fined £100 with £550 costs.
