Question Time for teaching union
Date published: 03 October 2014
OLDHAM’S largest teaching union is holding a Question Time-style debate at the civic centre’s council chamber on October 9 (7pm).
The event has been organised by the National Union of Teachers (NUT) and will follow the format of the BBC television programme.
The four panellists include NUT national general secretary Christine Blower and children’s author Alan Gibbons, Oldham West and Royton MP Michael Meacher and Councillor Diane Williamson, the Liberal Democrat spokesman for education on Oldham Council.
Tony Harrison, Oldham NUT’s union learning rep, said the event was a response to popular demand for discussion about educational policy.
Free tickets from Oldham NUT office on 0161-785 4674.
