A new website, launched in conjunction with World Mental Health day, offers Oldhamers help with stress and worry.
The site allows local people to contact their local Healthy Minds service so a health professional can get in touch. Healthy Minds is a Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust service ofering support, advice and treatment options for people suffering low mood, stress, anxiety or depression.
Previously, the only way to access the service was to be referred by a GP.
Sue Evans of Healthy Minds Oldham, said: “People often try to deal with these problems themselves, but they can continue for a long time or get worse. It is important people realise support is available, even if it’s just having someone to talk through the problem.
“Anyone in need of advice can now visit our website and fill in a few simple details rather than going to their GP.”
