DETERMINED: Hayley Bromley is urging people to take part in the first March On Cancer event in Manchester next Saturday
A YOUNG woman who lost her mum to cancer is calling on everyone in Greater Manchester to stand up to the disease.
Hayley Bromley (23), from Chadderton, is encouraging supporters to join the first March On Cancer event at Salford Quays on October 11. Hayley’s mum Mavis died in 2009, aged 55.
“There might not have been a cure for my mum, but I’m determined to recruit others to the fight against this devastating disease,” said Hayley. “I’m urging as many people as possible to sign up for March On Cancer.”
The march, from Salford’s Media City, is part of Stand Up To Cancer, a joint fund-raising campaign by Cancer Research UK and Channel 4. Fifteen cities are expected to stage evening walks starting from 7.30pm and featuring live music and entertainment.
