Debbie backs Chronicle campaign

Debbie Abrahams is supporting the Evening Chronicle’s campaign to create 500 “Dementia Friends” in Oldham by Christmas.
The campaign, run with Oldham Council, Oldham Clinical Commissioning Group and the Alzheimer’s Society, aims to improve everyone’s understanding of dementia and encourage people to support those with the condition.
The Oldham East and Saddleworth MP, who has just been elected vice-chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the condition, said: “I talk to the other members of the APPG with great pride about the progress made across our borough to create a dementia-friendly Oldham.
“On top of that we now have the boost of the Oldham Chronicle’s campaign to sign up 500 Dementia friends by Christmas, which is brilliant.”
Mrs Abrahams is the only MP to become a Dementia Friends Champion and has made a dementia-friendly Oldham one of her top 10 priorities.
