A BENEFIT gig in aid of Oldham musician Morgan Fletcher was hailed as a success by one of its organisers.
Fellow musicians and friends of the well-known rocker staged the gig, which aimed to raise as much money as possible to help Morgan and his family as he struggles with medical problems.
Morgan (62), who has entertained on the local pub and club circuit for 40 years, was forced to quit singing in May after problems with his voice.
Friend and fellow musician Johnny Sax said the gig was his friends’ way of helping Morgan: “The event went brilliantly and it was a huge success. The place was packed out and we raised a fantastic £2,000 for Morgan’s family. They are over the moon.”
