Rape charges remand

A CHADDERTON man has been remanded in custody until his trial date, charged with assaulting one woman and sexually assaulting two more.
No application for bail was requested as Oldham Magistrates Court heard that Iqbal Ali (33) was accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to a 27-year-old woman who remains in a medically induced coma at Royal Oldham Hospital.
As part of the subsequent investigation, Ali will also face charges of two counts of rape and assault occasioning actual bodily harm on a second woman and two counts of indecently assaulting a woman over 16 and assault occasioning actual bodily harm against a third.
Ali will appear at Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester, on November, 13.
