POLICE are hunting machete-wielding thugs who threatened staff and robbed a shop.
The two men walked into the Co-op in Middleton Road, Chadderton at around 9.25pm on Thursday.
While one stayed by the entrance, the other walked behind the counter and demanded cash. The pair escaped in a silver Vauxhall Corsa stolen in a burglary in Heywood earlier in the day.
The car was found abandoned in Heywood on Friday.
The men are described as wearing dark clothing.
Det Sgt Darren Grafton said: “I’d ask anyone who may have any information relating to the original theft of the vehicle, later sightings in Chadderton or during the robbery, to contact us as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should phone 0161-856 9080 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555 111.
