Father Christmas comes back to town

ON THEIR WAY: Rodney Reindeer and Santa launch Oldham's Christmas events this weekend.
Father Christmas and his team of reindeer will arrive in Oldham on Saturday, kick-starting an exciting programme of festive events.
The annual Reindeer Parade will be based on a “12 days of Christmas theme”, supported by the “Reindeer Rocks” youth band and characters from Coliseum pantomime “Aladdin”.
The fun starts at 11am when giant elves, crazy crackers and a roaming robins will spread Christmas cheer along the High Street.
The parade starts from Clegg Street at 12.45pm and travels along High Street, Lord Street, Albion Street and Henshaw Street before stopping outside Oldham Town Square Shopping Centre.
After the parade, Santa will open his fairytale grotto in the Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre.
The Reindeer Parade is the first in a programme of Christmas events taking place in the town centre.
The next event will be the Christmas lights switch-on on Sunday, November 16.
