Raising the roof for the fallen

SADDLEWORTH Male Voice Choir’s annual Concert of Remembrance raised the roof in memory of the fallen.

The choir was accompanied by Milnrow Brass Band. Special guests included Denis Shiels and John Walker - both Chelsea Pensioners - and the Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Fida Hussain.

A large crowd packed the Civic Hall, Uppermill for what has become a major annual event.

Choir chairman John Watts said: “It was a great success, the hall was packed out. Milnrow band were absolutely superb.”
