Jobless total continues to tumble

JOBLESS figures in Oldham continued to fall last month, with more than 100 fewer people claiming job-seekers allowance.
The number of men unemployed in October fell from 1,830 to 1,718, while the figure for women dropped from 1,285 to 1,188.
There was a further decrease in youth unemployment, down from 490 last month to 430 this month.
Almost 41,900 people were claiming JSA in Greater Manchester in October — a fall of 2,800 on the previous month.
