Traffic on Chadderton Way was prevented from joining the A627M.
TRAFFIC ground to a halt in Chadderton yesterday after a woman threatened to jump from a bridge.
The A627M, near Elk Mill retail park, was closed in both directions near Healds Green bridge, at around 2pm, after police were told a woman in her 20s had been spotted on the wrong side of the bridge.
A police spokesman said: “The woman appeared to be in some distress, but officers talked her down.”
The road was reopened after 90 minutes.
