ROYTON crooner Chris Connor is donning his blue suede shoes for an appearance at Heywood Civic Centre on Saturday.
Fresh from performing at the London Palladium, Chris was recently voted the world’s best Elvis impersonator.
Chris (35) was presented with his award — voted for by Elvis fans across the world — in Memphis, Tennessee, after meeting Elvis’s best friend Joe Esposito, the man who discovered The King’s body on August 16, 1977.
Joe told Chris, of Sandringham Way: “You have touched my heart, you are amazing — and you look just like Elvis.”
For the last three years, Chris has played Elvis in the hit show “Legends” in Blackpool.
Next year he takes on a 60-night tour around Europe.
Tickets for the Heywood show are £15. Visit www.link4life.org/whats-on/heywood-civic-centre for details.
