DAFT AS A BRUSH: the 36 and over freestyle champions, many of whom are parents of Pure Dance students
MEMBERS of Pure Dance Academy scored nine first places at the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) Nationwide Championships.
The Derker-based dance school entered over 30 competitors at the Winter Gardens event in Blackpool and claimed first place in three freestyle team events: under nines, under 14s and 36 years and above.
The Under 18s team also scored a second place in their freestyle category.
Principal teacher, Rebecca Jarvis, was thrilled with the success of her pupils.
She said: “This is the first time a North-West dance school has come away with three national team titles and I was so proud of everyone’s outstanding performances. It was a fantastic weekend with an electric atmosphere.”
