Yob fans get a red card

ANTI-SOCIAL behaviour will not be tolerated at Oldham Athletic — that’s the message from club officials who have released a hard-hitting statement following Saturday’s derby.
Police made nine arrests during Latics’ 3-0 victory at Spotland and 28 fans were ejected from Spotland.
A Latics statement says: “The club would like to thank the overwhelming majority for the tremendous backing they gave to the team. But as a club we cannot condone the small minority of fans who risk tarnishing the reputation of Oldham Athletic by behaving in an anti-social manner.
“Those supporters who discharged smoke flares inside the stadium, endangering the safety of fellow Latics supporters, must be made aware that this is criminal behaviour that will not be tolerated.”
