This car stopped tram service for an hour
FED-UP Metrolink passengers in Oldham town centre faced delays yesterday after a car was driven on to the track.
Trams stopped for an hour from 3.40pm until the white Nissan Note was recovered from the raised platform at the King Street stop.
Bryony Kenyon, from Shaw, had just finished for the day at Oldham Sixth Form College.
She said: “I have seen people drive along the tracks before. You would think they would know not to because of the raised platforms but it seems they just carry on.”
A Metrolink spokesman described the incident as “unusual”.
