A PENSIONER wants to find the Good Samaritan who sat with her for an hour after she fell and broke her hip.
Norah Whiteside (76) from Holts fell and broke her hip after visiting the vet with her dog. Though she was with her son John (48), his help was limited by his multiple sclerosis.
He went back into the vet’s surgery and blankets were brought out while they waited for an ambulance
A response vehicle with a senior paramedic arrived 10 minutes later and called an ambulance.
Buyt before this a passer by - in her late 20s, with mousy blonde hair - got out of her car and sat back-to-back with Norah on the cold pavement for an hour, supporting her to ease the pain.
John said: “I was trying to help as much as I could but struggled with my condition. A lady then ran over to help and sat supporting my mum on the cold floor for over an hour. My mum and I were really grateful; she was a lovely lady.”
Norah is now recovering at the Royal Oldham Hospital and is determined to track down the heroine, to thank her in person.
John said: “She just left as soon as the ambulance took over, which in a way makes it even more admirable because she wasn’t interested in recognition, she just wanted to help.
The unknown heroine can contact John on 0161 915 2340.
