BULLSEYE . . . Scott with darts legend Phil “The Power” Taylor
A MASSIVE darts fan from Oldham proved he had the power when he took on the game’s best-ever player.
When Scott Needham (26), who has Down’s Syndrome, attended An Evening with Phil Taylor he was hoping to be among a handful of fans to get the chance to lock horns with the darts legend.
Scott was disappointed when he missed out — until another kind-hearted fan gave up his place.
Scott played to 301 with no double finish and a win on any bullseye, while Phil played the standard 501 rules.
After a couple of rounds, Scott’s first dart hit single 19 and his second hit the bullseye.
The MC called it “game, shot and the match to Scott Needham” - sending the delighted crowd at the Wycliffe Hotel and Restaurant, Stockport, into raptures.
Scott’s dad Stuart said: “You couldn’t have written the script any better.”
