Model pals right behind

A GROUP of friends have proved to be model mates after rallying to support a Lees woman.

Beverley Heap, a prolific cancer fundraiser and owner of Unique dress agency, in Greenfield, rushed to help out when she heard of the plight of pal Julie Seville.

Julie (56) has been battling an illness since the summer and suffered a number of personal setbacks to the point where friends knew they had to help.

Beverley decided to organise a fashion show at St Edward’s Church, in Lees, featuring clothing from Unique.

And not only did she manage to get a host of helpers on board, from hairdressers to make-up artists, she also brought in models who have either overcome cancer or a life-threatening condition or who are having treatment.

“It was an amazing night,” said Bev, who says they raised at least £1,000.

“I have done many events but this was the most emotional I have ever organised.

“I think everyone in the room felt very, very connected as we all know someone who has or has had cancer.

Recovered

“A lot of the models have recovered from cancer and life threatening illnesses so it was nice that they could come and do this event.

“They all said it was a great opportunity to have their hair and make-up done and wear gorgeous clothes.”

The event was the second fundraiser friends have held.
