A FORMER Rochdale man has been jailed for 43 months for grooming and having sex with an underage girl.
Ansar Sadiq (28), now of Alumwell Road West, Walsall, was also made the subject of a Sexual Offences Prevention order and forced to sign the sex offenders’ register.
Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester, heard how during the summer of 2012, the victim, who was 15 at the time, met Sadiq through a mutual friend.
Over the next six weeks, the victim and two friends would spend time at Sadiq’s flat in Mitchell Hey, Falinge, where they would drink vodka bought for them by Sadiq.
The girls described how Sadiq would keep the door of the flat locked, even when he went out and left the girls inside.
On several occasions the girls would sleep over at the flat, pretending to their parents that they were sleeping over at another girl’s house.
It was during these nights that Sadiq engaged in penetrative sexual activity with the victim, several times over the course of the six-week school summer holidays.
