VILLAGERS in Uppermill got into the festive spirit for their winter wonderland and lights switch-on.
Saddleworth Lights Committee raises money to provide Christmas lights in the village every year and the Saddleworth Round Table organised a Santa procession, a junior choir and brass band, carols and mulled wine in Uppermill Square, finished off with a firework finale.
The village was packed with locals all getting in on the Christmas cheer as Christmas card competition winner Harry Ryan (seven) pushed the plunger to switch on the lights.
