British Curry Awards 2014 - Blue Tiffin
A ROYTON curry house has won a prestigious award at the 10h annual British curry awards.
The Blue Tiffin was named best spice restaurant in the North-West as foodies, celebrities and MPs paid homage to the nation’s favourite foreign cuisine at Battersea Evolution, London.
Business development executive Shaf Rasool said: “It was a complete surprise and we’re absolutely over the moon.
“We never cut corners and we’ve stuck to our ideals. We always say that it’s about providing a whole night experience for the customer.
“We’ve got the recognition from the public through being nominated so it’s fantastic to get national recognition with this award.”
Diners were asked to put forward their favourite curry houses for an accolade with 206,378 nominations received for 2,641 restaurants.
In a special video message played at the event, Prime Minister David Cameron said: “The curry industry is a great example of the incredible contribution of different communities.”
