Car set on fire in Chadderton
A CAR was set alight and others were bricked in a wrecking spree in Chadderton.
Two drunks are believed to have left the trail of destruction when when they went on the rampage in the early hours of Saturday.
Adrian Ball was woken up by his car alarm and explosions when his Alfa Romeo was torched in Beech Avenue at around 4am.
Fireball
Neighbours had called 999 and the 46-year-old education consultant said: “We are lucky that we have quite a big drive.
“It was such a fireball that it could have spread to the house if it has been parked nearer.”
A neighbour’s car was also broken into and police confirmed that six cars were damaged and bricked in neighbouring Birch Avenue and near-by Chadderton Fold.
Windows were also smashed in Kiln Hill Close and garden furniture thrown around.
Mr Ball added: “Neighbours who we have spoken to are worried and scared because it seems quite random.”
