SPARKLING streets: new “environmental operatives” Bilal Hussain, Diane Kenny and Dale Taylor
EXTRA street cleaners have been hired to keep roads and pavements across Oldham free of litter.
Councillor Barbara Brownridge, Oldham Council cabinet member for neighbourhoods and co-operatives, said: “One of the things that comes up time and again when we talk to residents is that they want to see streets rubbish-free. We’ve listened to them and set aside money to employ new street cleaners. We’ve now filled the posts and the staff are out on the streets.
The cleaners will be deployed across the borough, including the town centre.
