POLICE are investigating a suspected arson attack that destroyed a house on New Year’s Day.
Firefighters were called to a semi-detached, unoccupied house in Woodleigh Road, Springhead.
Emergency services swamped the tiny cul-de-sac which connects to Woodbrook Road.
Last night, Det Sgt Richard Arthern, of Oldham CID, said a 36-year-old man had been detained and was in custody in Ashton: “Our inquiries are continuing along the lines of arson,” he added.
