A Futuristic new £1.3m operating theatre is to be built at the Royal Oldham Hospital.
The specialist vascular service theatre will be a state of the art environment with high definition imaging and other advances. The project should be completed in around three months.
Riza Ibrahim, consultant vascular surgeon at Royal Oldham, said: “This is a very exciting development combining a normal operating theatre with an ultra-high-quality imaging suite. It crucially allows intra and post-operative imaging and intervention on the operating table.”
The theatre will have an advanced scanner that will allow highly-detailed pictures to be taken during operations - meaning patients will be able to have imaging and surgical procedures togeher, rather than having to go through different procedures on separate occasions.
