AN Oldham-based nurse is back home after spending Christmas fighting Ebola in West Africa.
Cath Nixon, a health visitor for Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, was one of 30 NHS volunteers who flew to Sierra Leone to work with sufferers from the deadly virus.
Cath (30), based at Werneth Primary Care Centre, returned a few days after Christmas after spending five weeks alongside GPs, nurses, clinicians, psychiatrists and consultants.
