A great-great-grandma, who lived in Royton all her life, has died aged 101.
Amy Robinson, a resident at Oaklands Rest Home, was delighted on her 100th birthday when her card from the Queen was hand delivered by her soldier great-grandson.
Five generations of Mrs Robinson’s family celebrated her landmark birthday and she donned a tiara for her big day.
As a youngster Mrs Robinson worked in the cotton mills before becoming a nursery nurse and later working at Vitafoam in Middleton. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, reading and ballroom dancing.
Mrs Robinson funeral will take place at Oldham Crematorium tomorrow from 2.30pm.
