OLDHAMERS are to be given a say on how cash is spent to tackle crime.
Greater Manchester Police has launched its largest budget initiative to allow communities to identify new ways of preventing crime and improving safety.
£150,000 is being provided by GMP, to be matched by local authorities as part of public service reforms.
Assistant Chief Constable Garry Shewan said: “We know the police alone can’t stop crime from happening, but where police and local residents work together we are in the very best position to help reduce that crime and the anti-social behaviour which affects our lives.”
