A suitcase full of casino chips, a garden Buddha ornament and a street lamp were all things left behind in local Travelodges in 2014.
The hotel chain’s list of bizarre finds in its Burnley Lane and Broadway establishments in Chadderton also includes a gold necklace worth £5,000, a diamond ring, children’s bike and a collection of vinyl records.
Shakila Ahmed, a spokeswoman for Travelodge, said: “Across the UK, some of the more bizarre items include a prosthetic hand, a love letter written 40 years ago, a ‘Star Wars’ Storm Trooper outfit and a feng shui aquarium.
The register also revealed 12,000 tablets and smartphones forgotten in the last 12 months — a significant increase from previous years.
Items unclaimed within three months are donated to local charity shops.
