Last chance to save group

Community champions have called a crisis meeting in the hope of saving their organisation.
Lees Community Association (LCA) committee is hosting an extraordinary general meeting on January 27 at Lees Library.
The move is a final desperate attempt to encourage members of the community to join and take up management committee roles. If they don’t, the meeting will decide whether the group should be disbanded.
The groups’s constitution allows officers to serve for only five years. Association’s chairman Raad Al-Hamdani said: “Unfortunately, unless there is last minute interest at the meeting on the 27th, we will have no alternative but to close. This is very sad, as over the past six years we have achieved a tremendous amount. Even at this late stage I would urge all community-minded individuals to make time to take on these rewarding roles.”
