Tim Mitchell - positively stepping into retirement
POSITIVE Steps chief executive Tim Mitchell is retiring from the role after 17 years in charge.
Mr Mitchell will hand the reins of the careers advice organisation to Steph Bolshaw, a senior manager for more than 10 years, at the end of March
Mr Mitchell moved to Oldham in 1982 to work as a manager for the council’s Careers Advisory Service, and headed the Positive Steps charitable trust from 2002. The trust incorporates careers information, advice and guidance services, the Youth Offending Service and youth crime prevention programmes, the Young People’s Substance Misuse Service — OASIS, provision of the Young Carers’ Support Service and a wide range of family support services.
Bernie Keay, chair of the board of trustees, said: “Tim has worked tirelessly to develop a model of integrated services which is now recognised nationally as exemplary. We wish him a long and happy retirement.”
