Students’ profit in business challenge
Date published: 13 January 2015
FIVE University Campus Oldham students have made it to the semi-finals of a national business competition after racking up a £12,009,380 profit — on paper!
The Universities Business Challenge is the UK’s longest running competition of its kind, in which teams of undergraduates run a simulated company.
Each was given the same brief to develop a wearable technologies firm, making all the decisions which affect the company’s performance.
Naomi Rushworth, Denisa Kavourova, Saqib Javid, Yara Ramos and Carol Firth’s impressive profit saw them make it through the first round.
The semi-final will not take place at Bristol University on March 6.
