Crumpsall patient tested for Ebola

A PATIENT at North Manchester General Hospital has been tested for the Ebola virus, Public Health England (PHE) has confirmed.
The patient is said to have a history of travel to West Africa and was kept in isolation in the specialist clinical infectious diseases unit at the Crumpsall-based hospital overnight.
Precautionary tests have been carried out at the hospital, which is run by Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, though ebola is considered “unlikely”.
No further details about the patient, including their sex and age, have been revealed.
