Drunken assault on child

AN Oldham man pleaded guilty to assaulting a child under seven and being drunk in charge of a child under seven.
Christopher Simpson (29), from Ronald Street, admitted being in charge of a child while extremely drunk at a bus stop in Blackshaw Lane and causing bruises, scratches and grazes while with the child.
Sentencing was adjourned until February 4 for a report and Simpson was remanded on conditional bail.
