MEMBERS of 1855 Squadron Royton Air Training Corps have been crowned ATC netball champions of Greater Manchester, beating 35 squadrons in the process.
Their victory was a first for Steve Owen, who has just taken charge of the Royton squadron after moving from Saddleworth.
“To take charge of a squadron as successful as Royton is a challenge and a privilege,” he said. “I ‘ve been here a few weeks and the team around me is absolutely fantastic.
Of 1,000 squadrons around the UK, Royton is regularly ranked within the top five and has enjoyed consistent success.
